Is It Possible for Your Skin Type to Change?

This is where things become tricky since, at some point, your skin type might change. For instance, it’s not uncommon to have oily or acne-prone skin while you’re a teenager. It does not, however, imply that you will always have oily skin. Actually, along with a number of other changes we won’t go into here, becoming older causes your skin to become drier. Therefore, having oily skin in your youth and drier skin as you age is normal.Your skin type may also be influenced by other elements, such as the climate where you live: Cold, dry air is frequently connected with dry skin, but hot weather and humidity might be linked to oilier skin.

If you are still confused then calm down Here is the paper test that you can find out your skin type step-by-step

  1. Wash your face with a face wash or gentle cleanser and pat it dry with a towel.
  2. Wait for 30 minutes to an hour to allow your skin to return to its natural state.
  3. Take the piece of paper (tissue paper)and gently press it against your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin.
  4. Hold the paper in place for about 5-7 seconds.
  5. Remove the paper and observe the oil marks or patterns on the paper.
  6. Check the paper against the following criteria to determine your skin type.

Skin type indicators

Normal Skin: The paper will show a slight oil mark, but it will not be too greasy or transparent.

Oily Skin: The paper will be heavily marked with oil, and it may be transparent in some areas.

Dry Skin: The paper will show little to no oil marks, and it may appear rough or flaky.

Combination Skin: The paper will show oil marks on the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) but little to no oil on the cheeks.

Sensitive Skin: The paper may show some oil marks, but the skin may also appear red or irritated.

If you are not able to find out your skin type then consult with your dermatologist
